Hi
I don't have a job at the moment, but was wondering. I know you can earn up to £95 and still get CA.
What if I temped one week, say, and earned more in that week, but then earned less (or nothing). Would I be able to re-apply for CA, or is there a stipulation you have to wait months before being re-eligible.
I seem to remember thinking there was some stipulation that you'd been caring for six months prior..?? (Altho I still would be, would earning one weeks wage at £95+ stop me from re-applying)
Its a mine field when you start going in to the rules and regulations re : CA.I would suggest you phone Carers Line at CUK.They will be able to advise in depth and certainly best to talk on a one to one basis.
CarersLine is staffed by experts and has years of experience of dealing with the problems carers face. We provide free and confidential information and advice on:
benefits and tax credits
carers employment rights
carers assessments
the services available for carers, and how to complain effectively and challenge decisions.
Our freephone number is 0808 808 7777 and we are open on Wednesday and Thursday 10am -12pm and 2pm - 4pm.
I earn variable earnings, and so far the carers Benefit people have accepted that i can spread my earnings over a three month period and deduct expenses such as home office, car, broadband connection and so on. The point is to let them know and be able to evidence your claim. Last year I lost out at least 1200 pounds because I was too twitchy, this year I am counting every penny as costs and deducting them. Like anything else, its a pain but worth doing.
